Life Coaching

As a life coach, I specialize in helping adults at midlife, which can be a time of celebration, confusion or both. If you are in that phase of life and are longing for a more fulfilling experience, where you're actively working toward reaching your cherished goals and dreams, you might be a perfect candidate for life coaching.

I work with clients on such common midlife issues as:
  • Clarifying how you want to live the rest of your life and identifying your priorities.
  • Creating more satisfying work-life balance.
  • Actively addressing the health and self-image issues that can become more prevalent as you age.
  • Assessing whether you want to stay on your current career path or helping you successfully transition to the new career you've chosen.
Relationships often become quite challenging at midlife, so I can help you grapple with such things as:
  • Managing the "sandwich generation" complexities of caring for both your children and your aging parents.
  • Dealing with the empty nest syndrome after your children have established their own lives and, if you have a partner, redefining your relationship as a couple without children at home.
  • Navigating the often-difficult waters of midlife dating if you are single.
During our coaching sessions, we will collaborate to:
  • Assess your life, identifying the areas that are working well for you and those that need some attention.
  • Generate and prioritize goals that would contribute significantly to your quality of life.
  • Draw upon your inner wisdom and creativity.
  • Brainstorm ideas in order to create specific plans for achieving your goals.
  • Stay motivated and on track. Each week, you will agree to accomplish certain steps in your action plan prior to our next coaching session. This accountability will help keep you focused, rather than getting so distracted by the busy-ness of daily life that your larger goals get lost in the shuffle.
Unlike therapy, life coaching doesn’t involve addressing your emotional issues or looking into your past. Instead, it revolves around formulating goals and generating accomplishments in the here-and-now with the help of a trained professional to help you along the way.

Since life coaching is an unregulated field, literally anyone can call themselves life coaches without having any relevant training. However, I am a licensed therapist, so I have thousands of hours of graduate school and clinical experience using techniques that are extremely beneficial in the life-coaching process. These include helping you look closely at your overall quality of life, targeting the changes that would produce the most meaningful results and providing nurturing support to keep you motivated as you work toward your goals.

The sky’s the limit when you look deep and wide at how you can create the life you really want.
